What is SRA Skin Rejuvenation and How does it work?
SRA stands for Skin Rejuvenation Advanced, it is a unique combination of IPL and RF (radio frequency) making it more than the typical photofacial.
Our trained professionals at Synergy Medispa use Syneron Candela’s Elōs Plus system to perform SRA treatments. This application platform allows us to use multiple different SRA applicators in a range of sizes. With this, we can cover larger areas in less time, as well as tiny, hard to reach spaces that a bulkier application head could not reach. SRA combines the technologies of IPL with bipolar radiofrequency (RF) to reach deep into the dermis to isolate the pigmented area treated, ensuring all surrounding skin is unharmed.
The gentle pulses of these two energies allow for a better result, with the lowest possible amount of energy used, ensuring a safe and comfortable treatment.
There are two ways in which SRA treatments work. The first is for darker pigmentation, in which the laser is attracted to the discolouration and draws it up and eventually out of the skin. The second is for any unwanted redness. In this case, the laser is attracted to the hemoglobin and heats the small veins until they retreat into the skin. These methods work for a variety of different skin concerns, all surrounding hyperpigmentation.
The procedure is quick and relatively painless. There is no significant discomfort or downtime. Patients can get back to their daily lives immediately following treatment. We recommend that you avoid sun exposure four to six weeks post-treatment, as the skin will be more sensitive to the UV rays. It is also important to wear sun protection daily, following treatment. Depending on what we treat, results can be noticeable after just one session. Most patients require two to four treatments, usually spaced at least three to four weeks apart. Our professionals will work with you and your schedule to determine a plan of action to ensure your SRA treatments are most active.
